Planning Department send back Living Legend application

21 August 2009

The Planning and Environment Department has returned the planning application for a housing development at the Living Legend in St Peter to the applicant because it is not complete.

The application, for 65 houses in place of the existing tourist facility, was submitted by “Strawberry Farm 1990 Ltd” on Thursday 20 August 2009.  However, the application failed to include a transport assessment nor any information on the impact of the development on the infrastructure of the area.

Peter Le Gresley, Assistant Director, stated that because the application had already received significant media coverage, the Department wanted to advise members of the public that the drawings would not be available to view at South Hill, or St Peter’s Parish Hall, for some time.  He said:

“We have already had significant interest in this development and we did not want our customers to have a wasted journey to view plans which were not available.”

Mr Le Gresley added that the Department would also be considering whether an Environmental Impact Assessment is required and would make that known to the applicant within 3 weeks.
