Trinity School: head teacher appointment

16 November 2009

The Department for Education, Sport and Culture is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Nichola Turner to the post of Head teacher at Trinity School with immediate effect. Mrs Turner is currently Acting Head teacher at Trinity School, having previously worked as Deputy Head teacher at the school since 2005.

Mrs Turner was appointed from a strong field of local candidates following a two-day assessment centre.

Mrs Turner was born in Jersey and educated at Beaulieu Convent School. She was trained as a teacher at La Sainte Union in Southampton for four years and after gaining a Bachelor of Education (Hons) returned to Jersey to teach. Mrs Turner’s first permanent teaching post was at First Tower School where she taught for five years in Year Five and Year One.

Mrs Tuner was appointed at  Trinity  in January 2000 as Key Stage 2 co-ordinator and then took up the position of Deputy Head teacher in September 2005. During her time at Trinity she has taught a range of age groups from Reception to Year Six.

Commenting on her appointment, Mrs. Turner said: “I am delighted and excited to have been appointed Head teacher at Trinity School.  Having taught at Trinity for many years  I now relish this opportunity to lead the school. I look forward to building on the strong foundations that Mrs Rogers laid for us and taking the school from strength to strength. Trinity has a deep rooted community ethos and its strong family values permeate through all aspects of school life. I want to provide our children with the best quality learning experiences and equip them with the skills they need for life long learning so they become confident individuals and responsible citizens”.
