Winners of Garden and Good Neighbour competitions receive awards

The award ceremony for the prize winners of the Garden and Good Neighbour competitions will take place at 12.30pm on Thursday 24 September 2009 at the Pomme d’Or Hotel.

80 States tenants took part in the garden competition which was judged in July this year. Judges looked for content, visual display and presentation and Mr T Sauvage took the first prize in the Garden category (see picture above). First prize in the Patio category went to Mrs B Lott and the Communal Garden prize winner was the Journeaux Court Garden Club.

The Good Neighbour / Community Spirit competition was judged on 4 September with the Role Model first prize going to Mr M Morris. The Community Spirit award was received by the George V Cottage Homes and Mr J Widdowson was awarded the first prize in the Good Neighbour section.

Senator Le Main and Deputy Power will attend the award ceremony and will present the prizes along with several of the sponsors.
