Retail sales figures released for Quarter 3 2010

Jersey's latest retail sales figures have been released by the Statistics Unit.

The Retail Sales Survey for Quarter 3 (Q3) 2010 shows that:
  • the seasonally adjusted volume of retail sales in Q3 2010 was 1% higher than the same quarter a year previously
  • this represents the first annual increase in the volume of retail sales for 2 years
  • the volume of retail sales in predominantly food stores in Q3 2010 was 4% higher than in the corresponding quarter of 2009
  • the volume of retail sales in predominantly non-food stores in Q3 2010 was essentially the same as in the corresponding quarter of 2009
