Subsidised products contract awarded

The Health and Social Services Department (HSS) has announced that the contract for providing the Subsidised Products Scheme has been awarded to Pharmacy Locale, to take effect from 18 July 2011.

Until then the scheme will be run by Family Nursing & Home Care (FNHC) who have been running the Subsidised Products Scheme on behalf of HSS for a number of years. FNHC have taken the decision not to continue, in order to focus on their core business - the delivery of high quality community nursing and home care services.

Health and Social Services Minister Deputy Anne Pryke said: "The department is very pleased to announce the award of the Subsidised Products Scheme contract to Pharmacy Locale which will provide Islanders greater choice in terms of the number of locations from which they can collect products plus longer opening times. I can assure people that no one will pay more for their products as a result of the change of provider. Charges will be reviewed annually to reflect any potential changes in the cost of the products."
