Fire Service called to dishwasher fire

The Fire Service were called to a fire in the kitchen of a property in St. Helier on the morning of Tuesday 21 February. 2 fire engines were dispatched and on arrival they found that a dishwasher was well alight in the kitchen. 

The fire was quickly extinguished by 2 firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a hose reel. Further damage had been prevented by the residents of the house, who had closed the kitchen door.

Further investigations are being carried out but the cause is believed to be a fault with the dishwasher.
