Welcome to Guernsey's new Chief Minister

12 March 2014

The Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, has welcomed the election of Deputy Jonathan Le Tocq as Guernsey’s new Chief Minister.

“I would like to congratulate Deputy Le Tocq on his appointment and look forward to working with him in his new role.

“I am confident that together we can continue to strengthen the productive working relationship that has been established between our governments. This co-operation has already proved beneficial for both islands in a number of areas, including international relations, health services, housing, police training and financial services and I am sure that Deputy Le Tocq will be looking to build on this success,” said Senator Gorst.

Deputy Le Tocq, the island’s former Deputy Chief Minister, was elected by the Guernsey States this morning (Wednesday 12 March) following the resignation late last month of Deputy Peter Harwood.
