Over 200 Islanders have now submitted responses to the Equal Marriage and Partnership Consultation launched in August by the Chief Minister’s Department.
The consultation, which is open until 22 October, gives all Islanders the chance to take part in an online survey, to attend public meetings or to comment in writing on options outlined in the consultation. All Islanders can take part in the consultation by completing the consultation online or by picking up a printed version of the survey from reception at Cyril Le Marquand House.
Islanders also still have time to book a place at one of the four public meetings, led by officers from the Chief Minister’s Department, which are being held as part of the consultation. The meetings are on:

The purpose of the consultation is to give people the context of the legal options which would be available if Jersey was to introduce same-sex marriage. It also looks at other issues related to equal marriage, such as humanist marriage and the potential introduction of civil partnerships for couples of the opposite-sex.
The findings from this consultation will be set out in the report which the Chief Minister Senator Ian Gorst will aim to take to the States Assembly in late November.
