St Mary's diseased and dead trees felled

22 July 2015

Rue de la Rosiere in St Mary will be closed tomorrow (Thursday 23 July) while a tree is cut down.

The diseased ash, which is near the junction with Verte Rue, has branches that stretch across the road and over a property on the other side. Transport and Technical Services (TTS) are closing the road for most of the day while it is felled.

TTS reluctantantly decided to cut it down only after professional advice on the disease and ecological aspects. It is one of four dead or dying trees in St Mary’s village that are being removed during the construction of a new roadside field path.

Stop/go signals will be used next week when the other trees are removed.

TTS will be planting more trees than originally planned as part of the Village Improvement Scheme.
