Government statement on Jersey Care Inquiry report

03 July 2017

Jersey’s government has now received the final report from the Jersey Care Inquiry. The inquiry started work in July 2014 and has heard evidence from more than 600 people. This has been a long, complex task for the inquiry panel, and a distressing one for those who spoke to the inquiry about the abuse they had suffered.

Jersey’s Chief Minister will be giving an initial response to the Inquiry’s report and recommendations later today (Monday 3 July).

If you have been affected by any of the issues raised would like to speak to someone a special Freephone has been set up. This will put you in touch with someone from our psychological therapy service, who can assess what kind of help would best suit you. The number is staffed 24/7 and is 0800 735 1000.

If you would prefer to email, please contact Inquiry Support and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

You could also contact Victim Support Jersey by calling +44 (0)1534 440496 or emailing Victim Support. Their volunteers will listen and provide emotional support, practical help and information. They can also direct you to the right services if you need more support.
