New head teacher for Mont Nicolle

31 October 2017

Lisa Paul, the acting head teacher of Mont Nicolle primary school, will be taking over the role on a permanent basis with immediate effect.

Mrs Paul joined the school in September and is today confirmed in the post following a successful recruitment process.

‘The first six weeks at Mont Nicolle have been fantastic. The children, staff and parents all care really deeply about the school and are committed to it, so to lead that and be part of their journey is an incredible honour,’ she said.

Mrs Paul started her teaching career in the UK before coming to the Island. She spent 14 years at Jersey College Prep school and has been the deputy head at Grouville for the past three years.

Chief Education Officer Justin Donovan said: ‘This was an easy appointment to make. Mrs Paul is a dynamic, highly professional teacher who clearly loves Mont Nicolle school and has already had a positive impact on the community there.’

Education Minister Deputy Rod Bryans added: ‘I would like to congratulate Mrs Paul on this excellent promotion. It is great to see another primary school being led by someone who has who has a passion for teaching and who has developed their professional skills in the Island.

‘I would also like to thank the previous head teacher, John Baudains, for helping to make Mont Nicolle the successful school it is.’
