Partner appointed for digital modernisation

29 November 2018

Digital transformation

Global professional services firm, EY, has been appointed as an expert partner to speed up delivery of government’s digital modernisation and change agenda, following a rigorous, competitive tender process launched in September.

EY will develop a new organisational structure for Modernisation and Digital, establish a corporate portfolio management office, create a digital strategy for the whole of the public service and identify the common technology needs and capabilities across the organisation to maximise efficiencies.

Working as an integral part of the Modernisation and Digital transformation team, EY will also work with States of Jersey employees to develop skills and expertise crucial to ensuring that the improvements made to public services are sustainable over the long term.

Chief Operating Officer, John Quinn, said: “We were pleased with the number and quality of the companies who want to work with us on this crucial modernisation programme. EY was selected following a rigorous and transparent competitive tender process. Their specialist expertise will enable us to move at pace to deliver much needed modernisation within the organisation.”

Interim Chief Information Officer, John Laverick, added: “With EY, we will create a lasting legacy by upskilling our own in-house employees, while also working with Jersey-based companies to deliver individual projects and build longer-term strategic partnerships. It’s clear that EY understands the context in which they’ll be working here in Jersey and will help us to deliver our One Government ambition.”

The 15-month contract is worth £2.2 million, which includes the cost of the contract and other related costs.
