COVID positive results sent via text message and email

Islanders will now receive automated COVID-19 positive test results from midday today (24 December) through SMS text message or email.

Providing automated messages for both positive and negative COVID-19 test results
will remove any delays in contacting Islanders outside of opening hours for the contact tracing team. 

This addition of automated messaging functionality will shorten turnaround times for test results and protect public safety. With faster delivery of test results, individuals with COVID-19 can begin self-isolation sooner, reducing the risk of transmission to others.

Islanders will receive two messages, the first confirming their positive result and the second providing them with their unique six digit code for the Jersey COVID Alert App so that the app can warn other users if they may have been exposed to the virus for testing.

As part of the standard contact tracing process, all individuals who test positive for COVID-19 can contact the Helpdesk on t: 445566 for guidance and support. In addition, all Islanders are encouraged to download the Jersey COVID Alert App.
