Assistant Minister to take on additional responsibilities

26 July 2021

Deputy Gregory Guida, Minister for Home Affairs, has signed a Ministerial Decision appointing Deputy Lindsay Ash, as Assistant Minister for Home Affairs.

By law a Minister can delegate political oversight and responsibility to an Assistant Minister, this is required to be presented in a Report to the States Assembly.

Deputy Ash has previously held the role, supporting the late Home Affairs Minister, Constable Len Norman during the pandemic last year. Deputy Ash will continue this work with Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) and take on more responsibilities within the portfolio.

Deputy Ash said: “I am really looking forward to taking a more active role supporting the Minister and learning more about the vital work of all the services in the JHA family. I anticipate this will be a busy period with lots of legislation projects coming for debate, such as the Domestic Abuse Law and Prejudice Law.”

The Chief Minister has approved this appointment.
