Foster Carer Awards 2022

08 April 2022

The Government of Jersey will publicly recognise the outstanding dedication and quality of care that foster carers and connected person carers offer to our most vulnerable children and young people.

On Saturday 14 May, the Fostering and Adoption awards ceremony will be held at the Raddison Hotel to shine a light on all the work, time, and effort that goes into making a positive impact on children who need care in Jersey.

Islanders will be asked to vote for child social care workers, fosters, adopters and young people.

The ceremony will celebrate all the employees in the fostering and adoption team, including social care workers, fostering parents, and children from a background in Jersey's care system.

Influencer and author Judith Denton, who grew up in Foster Care, from the age of 9, has been confirmed as the guest speaker.

Children and Education Minister Deputy Scott Wickenden said: "I am delighted to see the return of the Foster Carer awards in person and for our fantastic carer champions to get the recognition they deserve. I would encourage the community to get voting for who they believe should be awarded on the night."

Around 110 Islanders, who are directly or indirectly impacted by Fostering and Adoption in Jersey, will attend the awards.

Do you know a foster carer in our community that has shown outstanding service, dedication, and commitment? A connected carer, which is a relative, friend or person connected to a child. Or a teacher, health professional or social worker or has gone above and beyond to care for a child.
