About Jersey Fire and Rescue Service
The States of Jersey Fire and Rescue Service helps keep everyone safe on our Island.
Our main job is to deal with emergencies like:
- fires
- car crashes
- sea rescues
- other dangerous situations
We’re trained to protect people, properties and the environment across Jersey.
Our team is based in St Helier but we cover the whole Island. We also have a station in St Brelade.
We have full-time firefighters who work shifts and on-call firefighters who can be contacted quickly if there’s an emergency in their parish or nearby.
As well as responding to emergencies, we work to prevent them. We have firefighters who visit and give advice on fire safety to:
They help people fit smoke alarms, check fire risks at home, and plan what to do if a fire breaks out.
We often work closely with other emergency teams such as the States of Jersey Police and Ambulance Service. We also support the Coastguard with sea rescues when needed.
Everyone in the Fire and Rescue Service trains regularly and uses modern equipment to keep Jersey safe.
