Taxis from designated ranks
If you use a taxi from a designated rank the fees you pay are set.
There are taxi ranks at:
- Weighbridge Place
- Library Place
- Snow Hill
- ferry terminal
- airport
There are 3 different fees depending on the day and time.
Fees can change depending on:
- waiting time before your journey starts
- traffic during your journey
- the number of passengers
Some companies will charge you extra if you’re paying by card or electronic payment.

Pre-booked taxis
You can also pre-book taxis to pick you up from any location. You’ll pay a pre-booking fee in addition to regular taxi fees.
Fees for pre-booked taxis can change depending on the company.
