New bus timetables for summer

14 May 2013

In partnership with LibertyBus, the Minister for Transport and Technical Services is pleased to announce the bus timetables that will be in operation from 27 May 2013. Service levels are being enhanced across the Island, with many bus routes seeing improved frequencies and hours of operation.

Proposed changes were put forward during a recent public consultation. The comments received from members of the public have encouraged LibertyBus to make further revisions to the summer season timetable, which will operate between 27 May and 29 September.

Summer bus timetable enhancements

  • 1 and 15, Monday to Saturday: morning peak frequency every 20 minutes. After 9am buses will run every 15 minutes in each direction. On Sundays, daytime buses on both routes will run every 30 minutes
  • 1A: one Monday to Friday morning peak journey re-routed to call at Green Road and The Dicq
  • 4: a Sunday timetable for the first time
  • 8: one evening peak journey extended from Tesson to St Ouen’s Village
  • 9: one additional morning peak journey starting at St Ouen’s Village
  • 20: revised timetable with earlier first journey, later last journey, and amended departure times during daytime
  • 25 and 27: some peak journeys extended to Les Fontaines car park, which will serve as a ‘park-and-ride’ facility in an initiative with the Parish of St John
  • LibertyLink services: increased frequencies, route extension on service 29 with most journeys continuing beyond Durrell to Gorey Pier via St Martin’s Public Hall, and a change to services 28 and 29, which will now call at St Mary’s Village
The Minister for Transport and Technical Services, Deputy Kevin Lewis, said “I am pleased to confirm that the 2013 summer bus timetable includes significant improvements to key bus routes.

"Service 1 to Gorey, which has traditionally run every 30 minutes, was initially proposed to run every 20 minutes this summer. Following consultation, the southeast of the Island will now see a bus every 15 minutes, providing additional capacity for residents and visitors alike.

“I want to see the bus network evolving to produce the best possible service to the public, and there will be an opportunity before the autumn and winter timetable to assess what has been successful and where further improvements can be made.”
