This set of black LED string lights with a wall plug does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.

The product presents a high risk of fire as the fuse does not meet the requirements of BS1362. The fuse did not meet the minimum length or diameter and had no granular filler to ensure safe operation of the fuse under fault conditions.

The lights also present a risk of electric shock as they were 
marketed as being for outdoor use, but had not been marked appropriately, with no protections from the potential ingress of water or moisture.

The cables on the lighting chain were lighter than required and had PVC insulation. PVC is not suitable for the long-term use outside and can deteriorate from the effects of UV radiation.
