Registration of holiday accommodation

Renew or register your property

Your property must be registered as tourist accommodation if it's used as a:

  • hotel
  • guest-house
  • self-catering unit
  • campsite

Before you can apply to register your property must be inspected to make sure the it meets the requirements of the Tourism (General Provisions) (Jersey) Order 1990.

To arrange the inspection email the Hospitality and Leisure Manager.

Registration runs from 1 January to 31 December and can be renewed each year. We'll send you a renewal reminder before the current registration expires.

Registration fee

The registration fee depends on the:

  • type of accommodation you're registering
  • number of people who can be accommodated in your property

Other licences and permissions

If you're changing the use of your property to tourist accommodation, you must have approval from Planning and Building Control.

Tourist accommodations in Jersey are graded by the AA and Quality in Tourism.
