We provide a social work service to the courts in both the criminal justice and family law arenas. Our criminal justice team prepare assessments for the courts and work with clients in the community and custody. Our focus is on rehabilitation, but public protection and safeguarding are also core parts of our work. The Service works with adults and children. As well as Probation Officers and Assistant Probation Officers, we employ part-time Community Service Supervisors who work mainly at weekends.
Our Jersey Family Court Advisory Service provides assessments to the family courts in both public and private law. JFCAS social workers require a minimum of two years' post qualifying experience due to the complexity of the work involved with children and families.
Supporting all our work is a case management team who take responsibility for our reception and administrative work. Colleagues in this team require excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to use a range of IT applications effectively.
The Service is always keen to receive expressions of interest about possible career choices, email us on probcma@courts.je or phone +44 (0) 1534 441900 if you would like to make an enquiry.
