Experienced recruiters needed

10 October 2012

Social Security’s employment teams are on the look-out for people with recruitment experience to help provide mock interviews.

Interview experience is a key part of the preparation that the teams, including Work Zone, Workwise and Advance Plus, offer their clients to make sure they are prepared to meet potential employers for the first time and complete the interview process successfully.

Rebecca Cook from the Back to Work team at Social Security said that building up a bank of about 30 people with experience of hiring employees would ensure that mock interviews were as close as possible to the real thing.

“Mock interviews give people the chance to go along to something that has the look and feel of a real interview. The idea is that our customers go to a real place of work, go through the interview process and are then given immediate feedback so they know how they can improve,” she said.

Mrs Cook said that a number of people both within the States and from the private sector had already offered their expertise but that a larger list of participants would allow them to be more flexible. “We are very grateful to the people who already help us. If you are added to our register of mock interviewers we would be looking for a maximum of one or two a month so it is not too big a time commitment.”

If you can help or would like more information please contact the Back to Work team.
