Give your views on St Lawrence traffic calming

04 November 2013

People in Jersey are being asked what they think about a proposal to install traffic calming measures and a footpath on Rue de Haut in St Lawrence, the road alongside Bel Royal School.

The Transport and Technical Services Department (TTS), with the support of St Lawrence's Connetable and Deputies, proposes to carry out improvements for pedestrians on La Rue de Haut.

Footpath on La Rue de Haut

It is proposed to create a footpath:

  • along the south side of La Rue de Haut from Kincaid Gardens to the boundary of Bel Royal School
  • a minimum width of 1.2m
  • constructed in block paving
  • at the same level as the road with the edge defined using wooden bollards spaced at approximately 20m intervals.

The wooden bollards will provide traffic calming measures, with west-bound traffic required to give way to east-bound traffic by manoeuvring between them.
