Changes to parking at Rue des Pres

02 June 2017

New parking restrictions will come into force on Tuesday 6 June 2017 at Rue des Pres Trading Estate.

Following the recent States decision, the roads on the estate are now main roads, and Minister for Infrastructure, Deputy Eddie Noel, has signed the order, Road Traffic (Rue des Pres Trading Estate) (Jersey) Order 2017, to bring the significant changes into effect.

Yellow lines have been painted to prevent parking on corners and other inappropriate places and both pay card and permit parking spaces have been created.

The permit spaces are marked in blue and have been reserved by businesses for their use with the appropriate permit displayed in the vehicle. These areas will also be signed.

The remaining parking spaces in the estate are for the general public to use in conjunction with the use of pay cards.

Deputy Noel said “There have been a number of traffic-related safety problems at Rue des Pres for years now. I am pleased that we now have parking controls in place. This is an important first step to improving safety and making the trading estate a much more pleasant place for workers, residents and business clients.”
