Update on Hurricane Irma

08 September 2017

Following the Chief Minister’s statement on Hurricane Irma, many Islanders have contacted the States of Jersey for information on how they can contribute to recovery efforts, as well as for emergency contact details.

We hope that full details of the relief fund, being organised by the Bailiff’s Chambers, will be available on Monday. These details will be circulated on www.gov.je and through our social media channels. Funding for disaster relief will also be made available to the victims of Hurricane Irma by Jersey Overseas Aid, through humanitarian aid agencies.

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) has updated travel advice to provide guidance for British nationals who are in countries and territories affected by Hurricane Irma. The hotline for British people affected or concerned about others is +44 (0) 207 008 0000.

If you have concerns about Jersey family or colleagues living in one of the areas affected by Hurricane Irma, you can also contact the Ministry of External Relations directly on +44 (0) 1534 440401 or by emailing externalrelations@gov.je.
