The Assembly of the States of Jersey is one of the oldest legislatures of the English speaking world. Minutes of its meetings began to be kept in 1524 but its origins were much earlier. The Assembly has 51 elected members.

Scrutiny

Scrutiny Panels monitor the work of Ministers and carry out reviews aimed at improving government policies and public services. Members of the public are welcome to suggest areas of enquiry, comment on panel reviews and provide evidence to them.

The Scrutiny website provides information about the different scrutiny panels and the reviews they are currently working on.  It also provides details of hearings which can be attended by the public.  Panel reports can be accessed and downloaded from this site.
