About the survey
The Water and Air team often work with other agencies such as the traffic team to determine if the air quality has improved following total or part street closures.
The team commissioned the Air Quality consultancy Ricardo to aid in the Government’s School Street Pilot Scheme at St Luke’s Primary School in St Saviour by providing and reporting the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) services for their air quality monitoring data.
Ricardo reported on any improvements in air quality from the partial closure of Elzabeth Street as part of the School Street at St Luke’s Primary School in St Saviour. The air quality monitoring was carried out on Elizabeth Street and in the early years playground next to Route De Fort.
Elizabeth Street is closed to motorised traffic from 7.45am to 9.15am and 2pm to 3.30pm Monday to Friday during school term time.
