The States of Jersey Sustainable Travel Policy suggests a target of 15% reduction in peak hour traffic over the next five years starting from 2010. In addition to this the Jersey energy plan aims for a 5% shift to sustainable modes of transport by 2020. This target is part of the wider energy plan aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
One way to help reach these targets is for your place of work to outline a workplace travel plan (WTP).
Workplace travel plan A WTP, or Mobility Management Plan, is a package of measures produced by organisations to encourage staff to use alternatives to single occupancy car use. Travel plans are the recommended way forward to widen travel choice and to encourage walking, cycling and public transport trips and to reduce reliance on the car.
