About the consultation

Following discussions with local energy providers, the Minister for Planning and Environment is proposing 2 amendments to the 2007 bye-laws:

  • setting energy performance targets for new buildings, in place of CO2 emission targets 
  • amending requirements relating to septic tank drainage systems

Prior to making any decision in respect of these changes the Minister invites comments from all persons with an interest in them.  If you wish to comment you can do so by email or by letter and you should mark your correspondence for attention of the Assistant Director- Building Control.
