About the consultation
The Social Security Minister has proposed draft regulations to introduce a law to protect against age discrimination.
We want to know what you think about a number of policy issues, including:
- the scope of protection against age discrimination
- how to deal with direct age discrimination under the law
- any exceptions we should make in the regulations that are not considered to be age discrimination (eg retirement, pensions, and age-related concessions and services)
The minister will take into account any comments received before finalising the draft regulations and lodging a proposition for States debate.
The regulations are expected to come into force on 1 September 2016.
