What we want you to comment on
We would like to hear your views on what rate the minimum wage should be set at from April 2012.
We would particularly like to hear the views of businesses that employ staff at the minimum wage (£6.32 per hour) and employees who earn the minimum wage.
- what do you think the minimum wage should be from April 2012?
- should employers be able to deduct a charge from the minimum wage if they provide meals to staff whilst they are on duty?
The trainee rate (£4.74 per hour) may be paid for up to one year where an employer is providing specified types of training.
- have you paid or received the trainee rate?
- what are your views on the criteria that permit the payment of the trainee rate?
