Jersey Safety Council honorary chair

​The Jersey Safety Council (JSC) is seeking applications for the position of Chair from individuals with a strong background in health and safety in the workplace.

The final 3-year term of office of the current Chair expires at the end of June 2025 and as such the position is offered to suitable applicants.

Applicants must be in employment and can be from any sector of local industry. They don't need to hold any formal health and safety qualification but should have:

  • an active interest in promoting health and safety at work
  • the energy to take on the leading role within Council in identifying areas where it can help improve health and safety in Jersey and drive associated improvement initiatives

This is an honorary position, with the Chair responsible for managing the annual budget as well as attending Council meetings, functions and events as required.

The JSC is an independent body, set up by the States of Jersey. It works closely with the Health and Safety Inspectorate to promote occupational health and safety in the Island. The Council consists of an honorary chair and four honorary members with a part-time secretary.
