Jersey Children's Day

Celebrate Jersey Children's Day 2023 on 2 July

Jersey Children's Day 2023

Jersey will celebrate its second public Children’s Day on Sunday 2 July 2023 from 10am to 5pm at Howard Davis Park.

It’s a free event for the whole family. There will be discounted food and drinks stalls and we encourage families to bring a picnic.

The event will feature:

  • live music from youth performers
  • free entertainment
  • free activities
  • a community tent for families to access information, advice, and guidance

ArtHouse Jersey in collaboration with Jersey primary schools will deliver a children’s art project with support for Phillip’s Footprints and Acorn Industries.

All primary school children have been invited to design a dream catcher from recycled materials to represent children’s rights. The final works will be displayed during the event.

Islanders were invited to register their interest in attending Jersey Children’s Day 2023, and almost 50 charities and organisations have offered to support by providing entertainment and information at the event.

About Jersey Children’s Day

Jersey Children’s Day is an annual event held near 3 July.

The day is an opportunity to make sure that the lessons of the past are not forgotten and to look forward to brighter futures for children and young people.

This event takes places following a recommendation by a Citizen’s Panel that responded to the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry.

The first Children’s Day in Jersey took place in 2020. All schools and nurseries were gifted trees as part of the Tree of Renewal project.

The first public event, after the Covid pandemic, attracted around 6,000 Islanders to a free family event to celebrate Jersey Children's Day in 2022 which was held in Howard Davis Park and Millbrook Park.
