PMR Leisure were engaged by Jersey Sport in 2018 to provide professional project management support. Further information relating to the costs involved for this can be found within a previous FOI response linked below.

Skateboard park consultation costs (FOI)

Government of Jersey (GOJ) officers carried out a site assessment in 2019 which identified Les Quennevais Sports Centre as a suitable site. The cost of this assessment was £1,765.62. The UK consultant, PMR Leisure, were not involved with this assessment.

Site Suitability Report 

Following the initial closure of the New North Quay Skatepark in January 2018, the then Assistant Minister with responsibility for Sport, expressed confidence that facilities could be built before the 2020 Summer Olympics. These are now due to be held from 23 July 2021.

The project was delayed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, however the funding shown below was granted in January 2020 through the Government Plan 2020-2023 which marked the formal start of the project.

£250,000 in 2020

£535,000 in 2021

The GOJ intend for construction of the skatepark to be completed in 2021.
