​​Staying visitors and day trippers

Between 2014 and 2015, the number of staying leisure visitors increased by 3% to 347,000. 

The number of leisure day visitor​s decreased by 1% to 108,300.

Total on-Island visitor expenditure in 2015 was £243 million. This is an average of £338 per visitor.

Accommodation and bed spaces

In 2015 Jersey had 138 registered accomodation establishments with 11,500 tourism bed spaces.

Over the year there were:

  • 3.2 million total bed nights available

  • 1.7 million total bed nights sold

  • 0.9 million total room nights sold

The average yearly room space occupancy was 66% and the average yearly bed space occupancy was 55%.

The number of registered bed spaces has fallen by more than two-fifths (43%) since 1998.

The lowest occupancy r​ates occurred between January to March and November to December.

Length of stay of staying leisure visitors

Between 1997 and 2015, the average number of nights spent in Jersey by leisure visitors has decreased by more than one night, from 5.7 to 4.2.
