UK sanctions guidance by regime
The UK publishes extensive guidance to support the effective implementation of the UK Regulations made under SAMLA. These Regulations are implemented under the SAFL and the Sanctions Order.
Any UK guidance is written for a UK audience and whilst useful for Jersey persons it may not be applicable in all scenarios. For example, in cases where UK specific legislation or organisations which do not have a direct equivalent in Jersey are referenced.
UK guidance, and the UK Regulations, should also be considered alongside the provisions and modifications of Schedule 2 of the Sanctions Order. For example, when UK guidance refers to ‘The Secretary of State’ this should be read as the ‘Minister for External Relations’. Any reference to the UK or a part of the UK should be read as a reference to Jersey.
This guidance does not represent legal advice. If you are unsure about your obligations in a given case, you should consider taking independent legal advice.
