Jersey Boat Show exhibits confirmed

04 April 2011

This year’s Barclays Wealth Jersey Boat Show promises to be even bigger and better than ever before, with more boats for visitors to view than in previous years and all 4 of the top international boat manufacturers attending.

Jersey Marinas has confirmed there will be at least 73 visiting boats on display. Among those confirmed to attend include premium yacht manufacturers, Sunseeker, Fairline and Princess and for the first time in the show’s history, Sealine.

Commercial Director for the Port of Jersey, Myra Shacklady, said "I am delighted we have had a commitment from all 4 of the top boating manufacturers – this is a real coup for the Barclays Wealth Jersey Boat Show.  Not only are we boasting the best in quality, we are also boasting the largest number of craft, from small ribs to a Manhattan 70. This year’s show promises to be our best yet."

Exhibitors

In addition, Bavaria Power and Sail, Azimut and Capelli, all leading brands in the boating industry, have also confirmed their attendance. South Pier Shipyard will be displaying the largest range of Beneteau boats that has ever been seen at the show and the company will also be launching a new boating concept to the Island over the weekend event. Fox Marine, GT and Gallichan Marine will also be exhibiting their largest range of boats to date. And for those who prefer power to luxury, there will also be an opportunity to get up close and personal with a Honda P1 powerboat.

The Jersey Boat Show team is also working with a variety of on-land exhibitors including Jacksons and Motormall, both of which plan to bring top end cars to the show, with familiar brands such as Range Rover and Landrover on display. There will be at least 48 landside exhibitors plus a minimum of 18 catering outlets.

Boat Show sponsor

Sponsor, Barclays Wealth, is proud to be associated with such a successful community and tourism event. “This year’s Barclays Wealth Jersey Boat Show is going from strength to strength, with a fascinating array of boats and landside exhibitors already committed to the event. With several weeks remaining until the show I am confident that more exciting activity will be confirmed,” said Richard Corrigan, Director, Barclays Wealth.

Family event

The show officially opens on Saturday 30 April and will close on the evening of Monday 2 May. Now in its fourth year, the award-winning Barclays Wealth Jersey Boat Show promises to provide a family event with:

  • a maritime festival atmosphere featuring a fisherman’s village
  • an outdoor and active arena, live music
  • children’s activities and competitions
  • stalls from a variety of local and non-local traders
  • a plethora of boats

Many boats will be open to the public including a variety of working vessels such as The Duke of Normandy tug, and the impressive Fisheries Protection vessel, HMS Severn this year’s winner of the Jersey Cup and HMS Raider.
