Relocation of police headquarters

16 September 2011

A political steering group formed by the Treasury and Resources Minister to oversee the delivery of a new police headquarters following the loss of Lime Grove House has met for the first time today (Friday 16 September).

The group is chaired by the Assistant Minister for Treasury and Resources, Connétable John Refault, who has specific responsibility for Jersey Property Holdings. The other members are Home Affairs Minister, Senator Ian Le Marquand, and Assistant Minister for Home Affairs, Deputy Jackie Hilton. Deputy Hilton was not present today.

Connétable Refault said: "During today’s first meeting, we received a presentation on the options available and had a very constructive discussion. As a result, we are confident that a good solution that meets all of the police requirements can be met from within the budget set aside for this project."

The group will meet in 2 weeks time to review the options in further detail.
