Recycle for Jersey Week

20 September 2012

The Recycle for Jersey Team has been putting together a diary of events for the first annual Recycle for Jersey Week. The events target different sectors of the community, including schools, businesses and householders.

The Recycling Manager for Transport and Technical Services (TTS), Emma Richardson, said "Recycle for Jersey Week is an opportunity for us to raise awareness about all our recycling initiatives.

"It is also a chance to focus attention on the items that shouldn’t be thrown in the bin, like electrical items and batteries."

The recycling of electrical goods is a priority for TTS. The department has worked with local artist, Ian Rolls, to create ‘Mr Robot’ out of waste household electricals as a way to raise awareness of this initiative.

Mr Robot has already appeared at Jersey Live and Spice and will be appearing at a number of other locations: -

  • 21-23 September: St John, 'teddy bear field' opposite Parish Hall
  • 24-25 September: St Ouen, field opposite Parish Hall
  • 26-28 September: St Aubin, opposite Parish Hall
  • 28-30 September: Holme Grown
