The States of Jersey has confirmed Ray Foster as Director of Estates, a post which carries responsibility for Property Holdings. Having served as Acting Director of Jersey Property Holdings since 2011, Mr Foster has been responsible for managing the majority of the States property portfolio in recent years.
Mr Foster’s key purpose will be to improve the use of States property while minimising costs and supporting the delivery of public services.
Experience
Mr Foster’s previous experience ensures he is well equipped to take on this role. He has a Masters degree in Real Estate and has spent considerable time working as an accountant for the States of Jersey, as well as acting as Deputy Treasurer. His career has focussed on both the housing and financial sectors, both of which are relevant to this position.
Mr Foster’s past experience has enabled him to build positive relationships with key stakeholders both within and outside the States of Jersey.
Important projects
On being appointed to the post of Director of Estates, Mr Foster said “I am extremely pleased to have been given this opportunity and look forward to continuing my work to ensure the States of Jersey property portfolio benefits the island.”
The Treasurer of the States, Laura Rowley said “Ray has clearly demonstrated commitment and skill during his time as Acting Director of Property Holdings and I am delighted that he has now been confirmed as permanent Director of Estates. I have every confidence that he will continue to deliver positive results in this vital area.”
The Assistant Treasury Minister Deputy Eddie Noel added “I have had the pleasure of working closely with Ray for more than a year and I am delighted that he has now been confirmed in this role. I am looking forward to continuing to work with him on the many essential projects we have coming up in 2013 and beyond.”
