Annual social survey 2013 published

22 November 2013

The 2013 edition of the Jersey Annual Social Survey (JASS) has been released today (22 November) by the States of Jersey Statistics Unit.
JASS collects and analyses detailed information on a wide range of social issues on an annual basis. It provides official social statistics about Jersey, allowing everyone in the Island to have a better understanding of social issues and for policy to be made from a more informed standpoint.
The Statistics Unit runs the survey, and produces and publishes the results independently, with the included topic areas being requested by individual departments. The survey has a set of core questions covering key characteristics of the population, along with questions on a range of different issues.
Some of the topics covered in the latest edition include:
  • employment and careers
  • getting involved in Government (voting, consultations)
  • information sources (internet, social networking)
  • money matters
  • housing
  • leisure time and quality of life
  • health
  • travel to work
  • public facilities
