Information about Mental Health on Jersey-based website

07 October 2016

World Mental Health Day (Monday 10 October) serves as a useful reminder that Islanders who need to find information about mental health can do so on a site dedicated to only local information.

The Jersey Online Directory (JOD) was launched in 2014, and all information on the site is specific to Jersey. It includes links to:

  • Jersey Talking Therapies
  • care providers who can assist families with mental health issues
  • States of Jersey mental health services
  • charities such as Mind Jersey

JOD also includes information about help at home, health and wellbeing, residential care, things to do, transport, money matters, carers, training and employment, staying safe, and primary care.

The JOD is funded by the States of Jersey and administered by Citizens Advice Jersey.

Citizens Advice CEO, Malcolm Ferey said “The feedback we have had about the Jersey Online Directory is that it is relevant, up-to-date and easy to use for Islanders, especially those researching care available in Jersey and support services. It is for all age groups and covers a large breadth of subjects.

“Mental Health is a pertinent and important subject, and one of interest to so many people – the more information that is available, the better. We want people to know that they come to JOD as a first port of call and access what they need quickly and easily, 24 hours a day.

“We are pleased to support World Mental Health Day and the activities which are taking place in Jersey, both on Monday and throughout the week.”
