Diversions on Beaumont Hill

26 March 2019

Beaumont Hill will be open to uphill traffic only on Thursday, 28 March, for the repainting of road lines.

Downhill traffic will be diverted via Mont Fallu, which will be closed to uphill traffic as a consequence. Growth, Housing and Environment will begin the work at 9am on Thursday and aim to be completed by 2pm, when Beaumont Hill will be reopened fully.

Mont Fallu was chosen as the diversion route in order to accommodate the volume of vehicles that use Beaumont Hill. Closing it to uphill traffic will ensure that vehicles of all sizes are still able to use it.

Liberty Bus will be allowed to continue operating, and the three buses which use Beaumont Hill between 9am and 2pm will be given full access.

The painting of the road lines is due to be completed by 2pm on Thursday, but if work needs to continue, traffic may be affected the same way from 9am on Friday, 29 March. If traffic diversions are required on Friday, notifications will be given as early as possible using the Government of Jersey’s social media accounts.
