Ministers consider amendments to the Government Plan

13 November 2019

Government Plan

Ministers will be considering their response to amendments proposed to Jersey’s first ever Government Plan. Yesterday was the deadline for States Members to lodge any amendments they would like to be considered by the Assembly during the debate on the Plan.

The Government Plan presents a combined package of spending, investment, efficiency and modernisation proposals for the coming four years. It proposes investment in the five strategic priorities agreed by the States Assembly and in modernising government.

Chief Minister, Senator John Le Fondré, said: “The Council of Ministers would like to take this opportunity to thank States Members for the careful thought invested in the amendments that have been lodged.  Ministers will be giving serious consideration to each one over the coming days.

“We look forward to a constructive debate, so we can then get on with tackling the legacy issues of the past, and with investing in the long-term, sustainable wellbeing of all Islanders.”

The States debate on the Government Plan starts on 26 November.
