Work continues on Longueville Road

04 October 2019

Additional time is now required to complete the resurfacing on Longueville Road on Sunday, 13 October. The junction with Rue Saint Thomas will be closed on the Sunday, between 9am and 8pm.

Rob Cabot, Highway Maintenance Manager, said: “I would like to apologise again for any disruption or impact the work may cause people. We were due to carry out the work on Sunday 29 September, but work was cancelled due to the poor weather forecast.

“We have now rescheduled for Sunday, 13 October as the asphalt batching plant is closed for maintenance this weekend. I thank islanders for their understanding and cooperation while we get this essential infrastructure work done.”

During the Sunday closure:

  • access to Longueville Manor Hotel will be from the west of the junction
  • access to Rue des Pres Trading Estate will be from the east only
  • residents of Rue des Pres will only be able to access from the south, and
  • residents of Rue Saint Thomas will only be able to access from the north

Updates about the project, and details of diversion routes.

The second stage of the project – the addition of a high friction surface – is expected to take place four to five weeks after this first phase is completed. Further information will be issued when a date for the second stage is decided.
