Customers asked to phone or use online services

19 March 2020

To help reduce the spread of coronavirus, it is essential that islanders do not visit any Government building if they are required to self-isolate or have flu symptoms, according to the latest Government advice

In order to ensure the coronavirus helpline is fully staffed, and minimise the need for face to face contact, Customer and Local Services is:
  • encouraging customers to access its services online and by calling 444444; and
  • reducing its face-to-face offering to high priority services only.
Customers who are unsure whether they are eligible for Income Support are encouraged to use the online calculator before visiting Customer and Local Services.

To access any of the other services usually available at Customer and Local Services in La Motte Street, customers should visit www.gov.je, call 444444 or email customerservice@gov.je

Ian Burns, Director General of Customer and Local Services said: “Protecting the health of our customers and staff is paramount.  We will continue to provide excellent service and advice on a range of issues, delivering our services online and by telephone.

“Anyone who has been advised to self-isolate, practice social distancing or with flu symptoms should not to visit any Government building, but instead to give us a call.”
