Having considered the report of the independent planning inspector, Mr Philip Staddon BSc, Dip, MBA, MRTPI, which was produced following a public inquiry into the application, the Minister for the Environment has today determined the application for the New Hospital.
As recommended by the planning inspector, the Minister has decided to grant conditional approval for the application. Further detail on these conditions and Planning Obligation Agreements can be found in the planning inspector's report and the Minister's report accompanying the Ministerial Decision.
Minister for the Environment, Deputy John Young, said: "The inspector's report is comprehensive and provides a clear recommendation. I am very grateful to the planning inspector for delivering a high-quality report."
The Minister is unavailable for interview or for further comment due to the guidance on ministerial activity during the election period.
