Our Hospital Review Panel report timeline

13 October 2022

The Minister for Infrastructure, Deputy Tom Binet, who is responsible for the review into the Our Hospital project has released an update on the review and the timeline for the publication of the final report.

Significant progress has been made on the review. Last month ministers and officers visited several healthcare facilities in Northern Ireland to see working examples of effective modern facilities which could be replicated in Jersey and hear about healthcare services that are being delivered using digital technology.

Extensive interviews have taken place with key stakeholders who have been heavily involved in the project so far and have shared their expertise and experience with the Review Panel. This has included themes of clinical and operational needs, the condition of the current health facilities and affordability and funding opportunities, all of which have helped inform the report.

The Minister for Infrastructure, Deputy Tom Binet, said: “The visits to Northern Ireland and the stakeholder interviews are giving us great insights into the suitability of the different options which could be feasible in Jersey.

“The panel has been working hard to research and explore all options thoroughly in accordance with the scope of the review as it is vital that we ensure new healthcare facilities meet the current and future needs of the Island and are viable in the current financial climate."

A draft of the review document will be complete by 20 October after which it will be subject to final governance checks prior to being shared with the Scrutiny Liaison Committee, then other States Members. It will then be presented to the States Assembly and released to the Public on 1 November.

The Our Hospital review panel includes Lead Advisor, Alan Moore, the Minister for Health and Social Services, Deputy Karen Wilson, and Assistant Minister for Health and Social Services, Deputy Rose Binet.
