In April 2022, the States agreed a new system for setting States Members' pay through the implementation of the States of Jersey (Remuneration of Elected Members) Law. The Privileges and Procedures Committee is seeking expressions of interest from persons who would be willing to join a recruitment panel that will appoint a person or body to carry out a review of the amount of remuneration and allowances payable to States Members.
The panel is required to consist of the Greffier of the States plus between 2 and 4 other people who may not be States Members or States employees. The Committee is keen to appoint a membership reflecting a broad spectrum of Island life and welcomes applications from anyone who believes they could make a contribution to this work. The work undertaken by the panel will be on an honorary basis and the aim would be for the panel to appoint a reviewer within 3 months of its establishment.
Further information about the work of the panel and the likely commitment of time required to participate can be obtained from Kellie Boydens, Principal Committee and Panel Officer, email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone +44 (0) 1534 441075. Applications should be submitted in writing no later than 2nd September 2022 to the Principal Committee and Panel Officer at the above email address or Privileges and Procedures Committee Office, Morier House, St. Helier, JE1 1DD.
