About the consultation

​These proposed legal requirements will introduce controls to make sure food supplements are safe and all foods are labelled in such a way that people buying them can make informed choices.

Controls will be introduced on:

  • the labelling of food supplements
  • the composition of food supplements
  • vitamins and minerals in food supplements
  • nutritional labelling of all food
  • how health claims are made through labelling and advertising
